Job description:
Our client's Global Business Services (GBS) Team is implementing an exciting, transformational Global Finance Standardization (GFS) vision as an enterprise-wide priority. The GFS initiative, approved by the Executive Committee in June 2008, will establish or expand regional shared service centers around the globe to perform Finance work in the following areas:
Record-to-Report (R2R) encompassing financial accounting and reporting.
Invoice-to-Cash (I2C) including credit, collection & related accounting
Treasury regional cash management.
Procure-to-Pay (P2P), with rollouts in certain regions of the world where this has not yet occurred.
When complete in the next 3-5 years, the GFS initiative will yield standard SAP-based systems and processes for global Finance, improve information transparency, and global cash management capability and returns as well as strengthen purchasing compliance and controls.
The Intercompany Accounting Financial Analyst will be an active member of the North America GFS team, responsible for supporting the Intercompany Accounting function and driving significant improvement in business processes.
Candidate must be attentive to detail and will have responsibility for timely and accurately performing / supporting Intercompany activities including ensuring that all transactions are pre–approved prior to payment to minimize Intercompany out of balances.
Processing Intercompany invoices on behalf of the initiator where an agreement is in place with an affiliate for recurring charges.
Resolving any issues with operating companies in a timely manner, and updating and submitting all reports and submissions to Corporate and affiliates.
Additionally, the Candidate will have business partnering responsibility including maintaining strong working relationships with all customers (including Operating Company finance staff and other North America Shared Service Center teams), proactive problem solving, as well as supporting the GFS Intercompany Manager in achieving process improvements.
Delivering superior customer service in line with agreed upon levels, controls and procedures.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of a bachelors degree is required, preferably a major in Accounting or Finance.
A minimum of 1 year of Accounting or Finance experience is required.
Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or consumer products industries as well as public accounting is preferred.
Candidate must possess strong analytical, systems, conceptual, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
The ability to problem solve, think creatively and work in a team environment is required. Individual must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
The ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required.
SAP systems experience preferred.
