The Role: General Manager
The Location: Greater San Diego Area
Fiscally sound, rapidly growing area manufacturer is looking for a General Manager to serve as a visionary leader to our organization. Our General Manager will have full facility oversight including engineering, materials/supply chain, customer relationships and P&L management.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to drive business results through our company's production system, which is based on Lean methodology and meets the highest industry standards. The General Manager will drive production of the facility and ensure that it operates at maximum efficiency in order to meet strategic initiatives and customer requirements. The selected candidate will lead by example and demand an environment of respect through their actions and leadership style.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar field
MBA or MEng preferred
Five or more years in a senior operational leadership role
Extensive "hands-on" Lean and continuous improvement experience with Lean implementation in at least two separate operating environments
Management of at least two levels of staff with a history of manufacturing excellence, high quality and operational improvements
Previous experience interacting with high-level customers, international customer relations experience is preferred
Previous experience working for Toyota or a Toyota supplier is highly desired
Demonstrated commitment to change management, process improvement, on-time and quality standards
Required Core Competencies:
Strong leadership skills demonstrated through championing accountability, maximizing team and individual strengths, seeking and implementing change, and aligning with critical plant and business objectives.
Motivational leadership style with excellent communication skills and a lead by example mentality
Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives with budgetary limits in established cycle time
Strong technical aptitude
