ETL Developer

Description:
• Come work with a high energy, ambitious and talented team working to sustain journalism through an evolutionary approach to protecting and monetizing news content. As a member of our team you will leverage your deep technical skills and be challenged to innovate and leverage established practices and the latest emerging technologies.
• We are looking for an ETL developer with excellent data analysis and ETL architecture/design/development skills to work with other data and software development specialists to create new and enhance existing data processing applications using Microsoft SSIS.
• The ETL developer is a contract position that will require extensive expertise designing and building data services leveraging the latest Microsoft technology stack for a large data warehouse
Requirements:
• 6+ years of experience in data warehouse architecture and engineering.
• Follow sound coding fundamentals including code that is well documented, unit tested, clearly formatted, efficient, runs quickly, and is easy to understand and maintain.
• 3+ years of experience in SSIS.
• Solid understanding of systems engineering (this is critical to ensure a high performance BI architecture using CPU, memory, storage, caching, etc. efficiently)
• Prior experience building ETL solutions on multi-terabyte data warehouses.
• Have excellent communication and organization skills.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Work independently and alongside a team of senior engineers.
• Meet ambitious and aggressive plans with timely, creative and innovative solutions.
• Undergraduate degree in areas related to Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Mathematics.
Additional Skills:
• Experience with MSSQL & data appliance solutions.
• Prior experience with web analytics.
• Experience with automated testing and deployments of data tier applications.
• Prior experience working with virtualization, public and private cloud.
• Development expertise with data storage on Amazon EC2 and / or Microsoft Azure.
