Job Description:
The SAP Basis Lead is responsible for all technical aspects of the SAP landscape. Areas of responsibility encompass, but are not limited to installation and upgrade of the Client's Sandbox instances and peripheral systems, SAP Basis Lead interacts with Business Process Leads, Development Team Leads and Infrastructure Team leads to turn business requirements into tangible technical requirements that can be Implemented, and the SAP Basis Lead interacts with 3rd-party software and service providers to ensure Client's interests are realized. This position will gather requirements, propose best business practices using SAP, assess the impact of proposed changes, follow change management process and ensure that the changes are delivered, and then support the business through the implementation process.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Using the Six Sigma methodology to provide technical leadership in aspects of SAP Basis support.
• Enables change management by documenting and implementing leading industry practices
• Consults with Business Process Leads, Development Team Leads and Infrastructure Team Leads to develop technical requirements
• Assess utilization and train users on optimum utilization of SAP Basis functionality
• Determines technical configuration changes needed due to changes in Client's business needs. Configures and tests SAP system. Reviews and reconciles results to ensure correctness.
• Consults with management regarding the capabilities of the existing system and possible uses of those capabilities.
• Monitors assigned areas to ensure production system is functioning as designed and implemented.
• Enforces Information Technology (IT) guidelines and procedures, in accordance with policies set forth by management.
Experience:
10 or more years related business/consulting experience
1 – 3 years working with Six Sigma; Black Belt Certification a plus.
7 years SAP ECC (R/3) 6.0 Technical Lead experience is a MUST
o Experience in managing User expectations
o Experience interfacing/interacting with a 3rd-party service provider a plus.
o Experience performing multiple system upgrades/installs
o Experience with Hardware sizing and Installation planning.
o Experience with ERP, BI, Portal, SRM, SCM, GTS, Solution Manager, PI, GRC, and cProjects
o Experience in advanced performance tuning including sql trace, abap trace, and creating indexes
o Experience supporting various 3rd-party products. Vertex, BSI, Control/M, Control/D, etc.
o Experience setting up TMS, and handling transport related issues.
o Experience with system monitoring and ABAP dump resolution.
o Experience with ALE, SAPconnect, Client copy and delete, Language imports, etc.
o Superior technical competence and demonstrated leadership within the SAP Basis discipline
o Recognizes potential problem areas and provides advice and direction on the use of technology tools and problem solving processes.
