Staff Engineer (Clustering) background working with various web/app servers, strong experience in failover, scalability and load balancing
Composite pioneered the data virtualization category, one of the hottest enterprise IT markets today. Composite, as the data virtualization gold standard, continues to grow rapidly to meet this accelerating demand. Composite is a fast growing startup and is looking for a talented "star" Staff Server Engineer to join the server engineering team.
Composite is looking for a senior engineer with considerable experience in the area of concurrent processing of large data volumes in a highly available distributed server environment. The successful candidate will have expertise in the areas of distributed processing, network protocols including TCP/UDP/multicast, data formats, and multi-threading. The core responsibilities will include enhancing the Composite Integration Server with features in the areas of clustering for load balancing, scalability and fault tolerance.
The server is implemented by a multi-million line source base in Java, so the ability to understand and integrate with existing code is an absolute must. The core runtime is a complex multi-threaded system and the successful candidate will demonstrate complete expertise in handling features geared towards concurrent transactions in a low latency, high throughput and scalable server environment. The candidate must be willing to work in a collaborative environment and follow the Composite development process guidelines in building the most robust, scalable and high performing Composite Integration Server.
Required Skills
· 10+ years programming experience
· 5+ years of Java based server side experience
· 3+ years of multithreading experience
· Demonstrated competence in building highly available distributed systems
· Strong object oriented background and competence with design patterns
· Familiarity with toolkits such as JGroups is a plus
