Model-Based Mask Data Preparation is an emerging field of the last step in semiconductor design that outputs the format that writes the photo-masks.  It is a unique electron beam lithography simulation-based approach to mask data preparation, protected by granted patents.  (www.design2silicon.com)  D2S is a highly innovative company that is small, nimble, and very successful in its vision to have ebeam technology take a leading role in the EDA industry.  D2S is a well funded firm who has taken a leadership role in the evangelism of ebeam technology with the eBeam Initiative (www.ebeam.org), a consortium of over 40 different vendors in the industry.

Position Responsibilities:

The position will lead and set the standard for development and support activities within our organization.   She/he will lead and manage the successful on-time development of leading edge technology and delivery of reliable products that our customers can count on. 

Engineering Operations

- Quality processes for development and support
- Project management
- Program management
- Orderly development of longer-term projects balanced with timely responsiveness of commitment to tape-out success
- Cool-under-pressure judgement of business values and strong communication skills to marry the multiple perspectives toward a common goal

- Strong  demonstrated skills in both tactical and strategic planning

Product and Technology Development

- Product management

   - Project the future and create business opportunities by intersecting customer needs with technology capability 

- Demonstrated ability to leverage both internal and external resources (contractors, OEM, Open Source, partnerships, etc.)

   - Successful candidate must be a consummate team player
   - Individual must be a highly collaborative, flexible, visionary
   - Strong communication skills able to evangelize the ebeam technology to customers, partners, and employees alike

People and Organizational Management

- A track record of accomplishment in managing successfully groups of engineers with different attitudes, skills, and persona's

- A demonstrated success in development and successful release of several commercially successful products
- Track record of hiring and growing smart, bright, nimble development teams
- Extensive experience with HR processes, including interview processes and performance review processes.

Vice President Development Engineering  - Prefer Local Candidates- Highly prefer EDA experience

- 15+ years of experience in development engineering with a minimum of 8+ years in a management capacity
- Ideal candidate will have BS/MS in engineering or computer science from a top tier academic institution

- Experience in EDA is highly preferred and background in synthesis, place and route or other optimization technologies is a significant plus for this role

The ability and experience in building, motivating, and scaling teams of engineers is critical for this role.  

 

Successful candidate:

 

-  Should have had background in supervision of 50+ individuals in at least a second level management position

- Significant passion and desire to join a firm and contribute highly to the success and growth of the organization

 

- End-to-end product development expertise in the design and implementation of methodology to launch commercially successful products

 

- Strong self starter,  track record of determination, desire, and success is critical for this role
