Sr. Mgr / Director Outbound Marketing
COMPANY
Drobo (aka "Data Robotics") is the "Small Box, Big Storage" company.
We´re still private but doing very well (hundreds of thousands of units shipped, revenues growing, , over 100 employees, backed by top-tier venture firms.
We´ve made sophisticated (but simple-to-use) storage solutions for professionals, and recently and entered the small-medium business (SMB) market.
POSITION
We´re looking for a senior person to drive (and DO) awareness-building and lead-generation campaigns.
1. Hands-on / individual contributor as well as a manager.
2. Experience in outbound marketing for $300-$5,000 appliances, through channels ranging from etail (e.g. Amazon) to DMR (e.g. CDW) to value-added resellers (VAR).
3. Direct, aggressive, recent hands-on experience as a Product Marketer in Storage or appliances or related fields; ideally a technical background (academic degree or experience)
4. Superior written & verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be a brilliant marketing writer / content creator, as well as a program manager. Understand target audience, write compelling marketing content, set up program using content to drive & capture leads and measure the metrics.
5. Ironclad organizational skills and discipline.
In short, you need to have a perspective and want to own the marketing success of Drobo – and be able to accept all suggestions but politely maintain a vision (e.g, able to push back on anyone including the CEO).
Walk in and tell the VP of Marketing what you think Drobo is doing well from a marketing perspective, what you think it´s lacking to succeed in the market and sales channel, and a reasonable top-5 list of specific bits of marketing material and/or programs you feel are needed ASAP.
