We are looking for a Technical Product Manager for a full time role with our leading global Storage solutions client. The Technical Product Manager will lead the product requirement planning and definition for the De-duplication solutions and capabilities, from customer use case development/definition, closing working with engineering on development and product marketing on launch activities.
Responsibilities:
•Develop, maintain and drive product roadmaps. Be ready to adjust features and enhancements to meet the requirements of a dynamic and changing market.
•Develop and maintain Product Requirement Documents.
•Manage features and enhancements into the product development cycle of products.
•Drive the adoption and implementation of core IP into other key products in the portfolio of products and solutions.
•Collaborate closely with strategic and business entities to improve product marketability, acceptance and sales.
•Be a key stakeholder in: proof of concepts/mockups proving feasibility, writing positioning papers and plans encapsulating the intent, confirming user validation of the direction, and presenting materials to relevant decision makers
•Travel Requirements: 25-50%
Requirements:
•5 to 10 year experience in Product Management or development in translating customer requirements by documenting use cases into product features and developable enhancements.
•Detailed understanding of Fixed block length deduplication, Variable block length deduplication, content aware deduplication, single instancing, compression, inline and post-processing, zero page reclamation, hash vs other techniques implementations, etc
•Experience in performance characteristics applying some and/or many optimization techniques and the ability to use that knowledge to define the most ergonomic product feature/functions into various products
•Detailed understanding of deduplication products from companies such as Quantum, DataDomain/EMC, FalconStor, Ocarina, etc
•Strong understanding of key operating systems and operating system components such as various Linux distributions and Windows, and file systems, memory management, storage, etc.
•Knowledge of content and knowledge management concepts such as taxonomies, renditioning, repurposing, versioning, classification, workflows, etc. is a strong plus.
•Open Source commercialization and program management a plus
•Proven experience working with engineering teams to describe product enhancements and prioritize requirements across releases.
•Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
•Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
•Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
•Experience working in international distributed teams.
•Bachelors of Computer Science, Engineering degree or equivalent
