Overview:
Our client is embarking on a strategic project to build a next generation Business Intelligence Platform that will serve internal and external data consumers on a global scale. The new BI platform will be constructed on best-of-breed tools, designed and developed with a blended team of onshore/offshore resources and be designed with the following in mind: self-service reporting and analysis, flexibility, scalability, data security and a flexible, sustainable support model.
This new lead product management position will be in the Products and Technology Group and will play a key role in the day-to-day product definition, market analysis and product development projects focused on building out this platform.
This position is ideal for a candidate who has a good mix of senior level communication, BI focused product lifecycle management, and technical experience with databases, data models, BI tools, ETL tools, and master data management. In addition, the successful candidate will have significant market perspective on the retail/ecommerce space and client facing experience in a consultative or sales role.
Responsibilities:
' Providing BI product management oversight for multiple parallel BI initiatives at various stages of development ' market definition, product requirements, product development, release management and enhancements
' Ensuring high quality product deliverables including testing, training and documentation
' Ensuring the products planned align to overall strategic technology portfolio objectives
' Triaging product issues and managing client facing product communications
' Working closely with business stakeholders and clients to understand the market for new products/services
' Working closely with business analysts and project managers to define requirements, resource levels, estimates, dependencies and project plans
' Owning the product feature matrix/offering and communications to the market
' Working closely with the data warehouse operations team to ensure a smooth transition from legacy product suite to the next generation product suite
' Working closely with product management senior leadership to define and execute the business intelligence product vision and develop a long term roadmap of product feature releases
' Perform Administrative functions such as performance reviews, planning vacations, work schedules, training, and process compliance as required for direct reports
Qualifications:
Experience with Pentaho BI Suite (not only PDI), is highly desirable but not required (must have experience leading development teams implementing a major BI tool)
Experience with Netezza, is highly desirable but not required.
Excellent SQL skills

' Several full lifecycle implementations utilizing responsibilities noted above. Developing and releasing a BI product in a global data environment
