The Role: Process Engineer – Wire Bonder / Laser Weld / Seam Sealer
The Location: Northern Los Angeles
Due to tremendous growth, a leading manufacturing firm located in Northern Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Process Engineer with expertise in wire bonding, laser weld, and seam sealing. Our clients are acquiring more long-term products, which has caused a significant jump in demand. Our ideal candidate has likely worked in a smaller company where they were hands-on and Jack-of-all-trades. They have been on the production floor, in front of customers, trained production staff, and ensured machinery was in top form for efficient production.
As the Process Engineer, you would be responsible for sustaining and providing continuous process improvements through planning, evaluating, verifying and executing procedures to ensure that products meet all requirements in terms of quantity, yield, and cycle time. In this high profile position, you'll use your knowledge and expertise to establish control and measurement of critical process steps. As a hands-on engineer, you will have the opportunity to creatively develop more efficient methods to meet daily requirements and process goals in an environment of continuous improvement. As our Process Engineer, you'll also work closely with team members to ensure equipment is in top condition, and develop new processes that will meet our latest requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
BS in mechanical or electrical engineering
5+ years working in a successful engineering role with an emphasis on manufacturing/production
Direct experience working in a LEAN environment of continuous improvement
Hands-on knowledge and command of component attach materials such as liquid and preform epoxies and solder preforms for die and substrate attach
Solid background in process engineering/programming as well as machine maintenance with equipment such as Palomar, K&S, Hybond, Lumonics, Litron, and SSEC.
Experience dealing with a number of Wire Bond techniques that included Ball, Wedge, and Ribbon
Prior work experience in a small, dynamic organization, with a heavy ebb and flow of new product introduction and a significant amount of direct responsibility implementing processes
Ability to take ownership of responsibilities, and work collaboratively with clients and internal departments to identify business needs and creatively translate them into workable solutions
