The position
We are looking for a senior sales executive who thrives on initiating, growing and closing deals that exceed $100,000.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a territory with a quota and will spend a significant amount of travel visiting prospects and customers from Fortune 2000 companies.
As an eager and reliable performer with an established network, our new Outside Sales Representative will use and maximize each opportunity to sell CFEngine commercial editions. In the process of helping our customers to simplify and automate their operations, s/he will be supported by CFEngine Pre-sales engineers.
The position is based in the East Coast. It involves regular visits to CFEngine offices in Palo Alto (California) and to CFEngine headquarters in Oslo, Norway (estimated to 1-2 times a year).
Requirements
*You have 5+ years experience selling in the industry and you have built a large and reliable network
*You have a high level of technical understanding, a passion for software technology and an ability to learn quickly
*You understand Linux
*You enjoy hunting, building and closing large deals in the field and on the phone and you have a proven track record of quota and goal achievement
*You can deal with people ranging from System Administrators, Developers, Architects, Directors and VPs
*You have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
*You must be authorized to work in the US
*Background checks and drug testing may be required to meet compliance requirements to work with our federally regulated customers.
Desired skill set and profile
*Interest in Open Source Software and Open Source Community Model
*Familiar with IT operations and maintenance, preferably with a large number of servers (1000+)
*BA degree or higher
