The position
In order to build, grow and run a profitable Sales department for the Americas, we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented experienced Sales Director with a strong track record in sales in the software business.
The role is both strategic and operational with a focus on Fortune 2000 companies.
As part of CFEngine management team, the position also demands a good understanding of a start-up like environment, proven team-player abilities and excellent communication skills.
The position is based in the Bay Area (California). It involves travelling both in North America and to CFEngine headquarters in Oslo, Norway .
Requirements
*You have created successful sales strategies in the enterprise software business and developed the necessary processes as well as operational plans to support them
*You have a proven track record in building, training, managing and leading a sales team to outstanding levels of performance and growth
*You speak the language of both CTOs and System Administrators
*You can work hands-on directly with the customers
*You have a high level of technical understanding, a passion for software technology and an ability to learn quickly
*You are knowledgeable and can navigate in the IT Infrastructure world
*You are solution-oriented and you will be able to closely and constructively cooperate with our CEO, Director of *Products and Services as well as Director of Marketing
*You have successfully held P/L responsibilities
*You understand the challenges inherent to growing a cross-border as well as multicultural company and you want to turn these challenges into success
*You have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
*You must be authorized to work in the US
*Background checks and drug testing may be required to meet compliance requirements to work with our federally regulated customers
Desired skill set and profile
*Experience with IT infrastructure products
*Excellent technology understanding
*Interest in Linux, Open Source Software and Open Source Community Model
*International experience (working, living abroad) including working with multicultural colleagues
BA or higher university degree
