SQL Server BI Developer

Client is looking for a strong database developer who will be responsible for the technical analysis, design, development, testing and documentation of database objects and programs to move data in and out of databases. This role will work in the Sales reporting group and will work hand in hand with our DBA group to develop reporting and measuring tools.
Job Duties Include, But Not Limited To:
• Develop applications using SQL Server Integration Services and the rest of the business intelligence suite.
• Develop programs to transfer, extract, transform and load data in Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Implement business requirements in programs, databases and reporting tools.
• Create technical design documentation.
• Create unit and functional testing.
• Automating repetitive tasks.
• Carry a Blackberry for after hour support.
• Develop and modify Unix shell scripts.
• Assist other business units with data needs.
• Enforce accuracy and data audit standards.
• Work with quality assurance team members to support testing efforts.
• Ensure work follows software development lifecycle and source code management standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Four-year degree in computer science and a minimum of five years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with SQL Server databases as well as PL/SQL and TSQL.
• Able to adapt to changes and new requirements.
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services/ Reporting Services and Analysis Services.
• Experience with Oracle databases a definite plus.
• Experience with Crystal Reports and ETL processes.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Work with minimal guidance, self starter.
• Able to provide reasonable estimates on completion dates.
• Experience with Linux/Unix as well as Windows for development and execution preferred.
• Expertise with scripting tools.
