Position Description:
This position will work closely with the Senior Manager to analyze and interpret complex financial agreements for revenue recognition purposes. The responsibilities will include the following:
• Share responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of worldwide revenue and assist in the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual revenue reporting and analysis requirements
• Ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding systems, flow of transactions, internal controls and recommending/driving efficiency and effectiveness improvements
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures related to revenue to ensure adherence to relevant literature such as EITF-0021 and EITF 08-01, etc.
• Ability to foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional organizations within and outside the finance department including Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Legal, Finance, and Customer Service
• Business partner with Sales team with subject matter expertise in revenue and find solutions to critical business requirements that work for revenue recognition
• Responsible for Americas Sales districts for deal review and approval, working in conjunction with Marketing
• Ensure deal structure and technical accounting position is properly reflected in financial statements
• Research accounting literature for non-standard revenue recognition issues and provide analysis and conclusions
• Work closely with external audit team regarding all quarterly and annual audit requirements related to revenue
• Participate in on-going SOX compliance efforts as necessary
• Review/prepare journal entries resulting from reallocation of VSOE and/or revenue deferrals
• Prepare ad hoc analysis, when needed
Position Requirements:
• Requires a B.S. Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2-3 years of public accounting audit experience or 4-5 years of corporate finance/accounting experience with a strong working knowledge of US GAAP revenue recognition principles and compliance
• CPA preferred. High technology sector focus preferred
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and team orientation essential
• Creative and innovative team player with a positive approach and a focus on business issues
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
