POSITION: Lead SAS Developer
LOCATION: Oakland, CA
LENGTH of CONTRACT: 6months with the possibility for extension
Experience and Responsibilities:
· Expert in use/querying of Dimensional Data model built in the Unix/Oracle client server environment – Dimensional Databases.
· Expert in the following tools: SQL, SAS Enterprise Guide, PC SAS (v 9.1 and 9.2)
· Familiarity with SAS mainframe programming helpful
· Work with users to understand data uses and then develop applicable coding standards and best practices (includes outlining alternatives for parameterization, stored procedures, and other ways to share and reuse logic)
· Ability to mentor users in environment including efficiency, optimizing (e.g. of batch submissions), organization (e.g. managing, sharing, and archiving logic and output files)
· Perform code reviews and integrate relevant findings in best practices
· Research and communicate work processes necessary to maintain and enhance current work efforts
· A lot of Ad Hoc Reporting.
Deliverables:
· Coding standards and best practices
· Code review (of listed reports for migration into the new environment)
· Limited coding to enhance the efficiency and flexibility of work processes
