Senior Competitive Analyst, Storage Solutions
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Competitive Analyst for an opportunity with a Global Storage Solutions Company to develop and maintain knowledge of the market competition to provide consultative guidance across the company.
The Senior Competitive Analyst will be the "go to" person globally for the assigned competitive area. This means maintaining an "expert" level (deep and wide) understanding of the competitive marketplace (go to market strategy, channel strategy, marketing messaging & sales tactics) with the objective of educating cross functional teams and running strategic competitive programs.
This is a 6 month, 40 hour per week role (with renewals or conversion to FTE likely), as a Stage 4 Solutions w2 employee. Contractor can be based anywhere in the US.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to gather competitive facts, anecdotes, stories and intelligence from a variety of sources
• Capture competitive intelligence and ascertain competitive trends, insights and develop strategies against key competitors
• Be the focal point for non-product competitive insight. Ensure pertinent information is captured and disseminated across the multiple teams that require competitive knowledge to inform their work
• Establish and employ social listening/social learning tools to capture competitive information
• Development of a single, aligned competitive plan that includes a blend of defensive and offensive initiatives
Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years storage industry experience, in marketing, channels or sales
• Knowledge of key storage solutions players including EMC, NetApp, HDS, IBM, etc.
• Competitive analysis experience. Understanding of the variety of sources of competitive data and appropriate use of those sources to develop competitive deliverables and strategies
• Bachelor Degree, Masters Degree preferred with emphasis in Finance, Management, Analytics
• Intimate understanding of technology ecosystems (storage, server, networking, software, services)
• Strong and demonstrated experience in data management, processing, analysis, and presentation skills is required
• Experience with multiple channels is required (Direct, Channel / Distributor, Alliances, Service Providers)
• Experience with management consulting or strategic planning is an advantage
• Highly skilled in influencing and aligning a disparate set of organizations
• Highly organized, confident, self-starter with a very strong analytical orientation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Maintains the highest level of integrity and trustworthiness with ownership of key responsibilities.
• Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems, as well as identifying problems in advance and proposing solutions
