SJB Child Development Centers is looking for a professional HR Director for our growing number of Child Development Centers. Our mission is to provide educational child care for children birth to twelve years of age to strengthen and support families throughout Santa Clara County. Our programs help parents establish financial independence by creating a safe place for their children to learn while they work. We aim to break the cycle of poverty by offering education-based child care. We offer infant, toddler, preschool and before and after school care to the community.
This responsible position will help set the culture and direction of the organization which includes 11 sites. The HR Director will recommend and oversee training initiatives, coach and counsel employees and managers to provide focused and consistent community based support while complying with applicable state and federal laws, including regulations which apply to child care.
The best candidate for this position will be a generalist with a broad HR background including performance management and compensation analysis. Candidates must be committed to improving the community by working with families and children and have a personal commitment to community development.
Responsibilities include;
* Cultivating leadership skills among executive staff and emerging leaders
* Establishing departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the agency´s goals and objectives.
* Experience with Workforce Planning, Strategic Planning and Succession Planning
* Establishes and leads recruiting and hiring procedures to recruit/hire qualified workers
* Supervision of the reception area
* Training planning
We require:
* 3 years Human Resources Director level experience
* 2 year non-profit experience
* Familiarity with Title 5 & 22 requirements
* Knowledge of CA laws and requirements
* S/PHR desired
* Current and/or ability to obtain TB Clearance and physical screening
* Active Fingerprint Clearance with DSS/CCL/FBI/DOJ and/or submittal of Fingerprint Cards with signed Criminal Record Statement prior to employment
