JOB SUMMARY:
Under broad oversight, this position provides leadership and direction company-wide on employment policies, programs and initiatives in support of business objectives and in compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, OFCCP, etc.). Working in partnership with the Human Resources management community and in collaboration with allied functional areas implements solutions on critical Employee Relations issues.
This job does not manage staff.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESP. (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
· Interpretation of and compliance with federal reporting requirements including Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1 and Vets-100 reports and management of company response to OFCCP audits;
· Counsel and advise HR Generalists and HR leadership on the administration of practices in compliance with specific federal, state and local employment laws including but not limited to the FCRA, FLSA, ADEA, Title VII, ADAAA, FMLA, and NLRA.
· Review employment practices and procedures for effectiveness and compliance; develop and implement recommendations for process, practice and/or policy changes.
· Collaboration with business partners across functional areas in support of interdepartmental initiatives and issues of company concern.
· Lead the investigation and resolution of complaints of the highest complexity and sensitivity, ensuring investigations are conducted and recommendations are developed in an objective and thorough manner and prepare written reports of fact findings.
· Consultation on and response to employee complaints through the Internal Dispute Resolution process;
· Management of workforce reductions through the Staff Adjustment process;
· Monitoring of employment law and workplace trends and the design/delivery of training programs on relevant topics;
· Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
· College Degree in related course of study. Masters or Law degree preferred.
· Seasoned human resources professional with fifteen or more years of experience in human resources management with a heavy emphasis on delivery of employee relations support.
· Demonstrated management ability and a collaborative work style.
· Strong analytical, data management and reporting skills.
· Demonstrated communication and conflict management skills.
· Knowledge of financial services industry helpful.
JOB SPECIFIC AND TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
· Must have strong knowledge of HR compliance requirements for state and federal employment laws including, but not limited to: Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, and federal contractor regulations including OFCCP.
· Must have experience with OFCCP Compliance Reviews, including managing and emerging from conciliation agreements and state compliance obligations.
· Strong knowledge of investigative practices and significant experience with complex employee investigations.
· Must have influence skills and maintain an excellent working relationship with the Legal function and peers across the Human Resource function.
