About the Team:

US Software Lab Virtualization Team is engaged in designing and delivering the most advanced and competitive virtualization technologies and solutions to back up the company's Cloud Strategy. This team focuses on creating elastic virtualization infrastructure and solutions for sophisticated Cloud Computing Environments, for both Enterprise and Telco customers. We're looking for established professionals in OS Kernel, Networking, and Virtualization areas to form a world-class design team, supported by global development and testing team, to bring exciting changes to the industry.

Job Description: Senior Kernel Networking Architect

Responsibilities:

- Analyze industrial trends of virtualization and advise management about technical direction

- Analyze and compare competing virtualization technologies and make technical decisions

- Lead and drive cross-functional collaborations among BUs and with external partners

- Drive architectural design efforts and prototype complex virtualization components

 

Required Experience and Skills:

- Master in C programming

- Familiarity with multi-thread programming, scripting, and XML

- Deep understanding of modern OS kernels and virtualization hypervisor technologies

- Deep understanding of CPU/Memory/IO/Device virtualization technologies

- Deep understanding of network stack, including TCP/IP, and various over-IP/Ethernet technologies

- Deep understanding of Ethernet and switching technologies and standards

- Extensive knowledge of virtualization resource management, data center networking, and cloud networking

- Familiarity with x86/x64 architecture and standard IO buses, like PCI-E

- Solid experience in debugging, performance measurement, and project management

 

Competencies:

- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent

- 10+ years development experience in OS Kernel, Networking, Virtualization, and/or relevant areas

- Established technical leadership and hands-on programming ability. Relocation from within the US is fine, but candidates outside the US cannot be considered for this role.
