Senior Recruiter – Pharmacyclics, Sunnyvale, CA (Perm role)
At this time, Pharmacyclics is searching for a seasoned Recruiter. The successful candidate will have extensive in-house, full cycle recruitment experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as expert-level relationship building and collaboration abilities at all levels of an organization. Considerable skill in interviewing techniques with a strong working knowledge of scientific functions and the biotechnology industry.
Extensive knowledge of hiring policy and procedures and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
This person will work out of our Sunnyvale, southern California location.
Responsibilities will include; working collaboratively with the Director of Talent Acquisition to help implement corporate programs, processes and tools within the organization. This person will provide a consultative approach with hiring managers to help identify strong and diverse talent pools while managing the expectation of key stakeholders in the process and drive to closure.
Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
· Partner with hiring managers to identify top candidates and recommend offer details based on internal and external data points.
· Build a bench of qualified, diverse candidates for current and future needs within the organization
· Conduct a consultative intake session with hiring managers to set expectations and plans for the recruiting process
· Developing sourcing strategy and establish communication protocol with hiring managers
· Lead and execute recruiting and interviewing strategies for assigned open positions
· Thoroughly evaluate candidates against job specifications and overall fit
· Build and maintain a network of potential candidates and identify talent through established and new channels; leverage personal networks, events, job boards and social media etc., Recommend ideas and strategies that will contribute to long-range strategic staffing initiatives.
· Develop and partner with internal sourcing to help design creative and diverse sourcing plans.
· Provide recommendations and best practices to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the recruiting process.
· Maintain appropriate record keeping via applicant tracking system processes and have the ability to articulate recruitment metrics.
· Conduct follow-up meetings with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and process.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
· Provide weekly reports to the Director of HR on the status of all open requisitions and the hiring activity to be reported to the Executive Committee.
· Maintain candidate pipelines for all positions; anticipating future hiring demands and updating accordingly.
· Build captivating job descriptions and compelling communications for passive candidates.
· Provide aggressive hiring plans and build confidence and credibility with clients, candidates and HR team.
· Provide consistent results in a metrics driven high performance culture.
· Strong Project Management skills is a plus.
· Strong Influencing skills and ability to know when to push back.
Experience and Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry; highly preferred to have experience recruiting for R&D
· 5+ years of experience recruiting professional level candidates; preferable in both an agency and corporate environment
· Demonstrated track record of success sourcing passive candidates
· Strong communication and negotiation skills to articulate the employment value proposition
· Experience partnering with and influencing hiring managers
· Proficient knowledge and demonstrated results using recruitment technology (i.e. LinkedIn Recruiter, Database mining, ATS and MS Office Suite)
· Flexible and adaptable with focused time management skills
· Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
· Experience in a start up and/or small biotech company environment is highly desirable
· Attention to detail
