Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is looking for an energetic, dependable Technology Writer to support internal, executive and PR programs for our clients' Corporate Communications team. The position involves assessing the needs of different corporate audiences, sourcing information, and working with subject matter experts across the business to develop clear content for a variety of deliverables on deadline. This role also includes some project management in areas supporting development and management of news content for the corporate internal website and content creation in support of the executive communications and speaking program functions, but is primarily a writing position.
The ideal candidate enjoys crafting stories, has experience writing for the C-suite, and is eager to continue honing their writing skills across multiple disciplines as part of a dynamic communications team. Must have 3-5 recent published technology writing samples in order to be considered for the role.
Skills:
5 years' combined experience (B2B and B2C) in internal and external communications writing roles at an agency, business or media outlet/news reporting
Background working as a journalist or other editorial position
Must have experience writing for technology firms, clients or publications
Exceptional writing skills (please be prepared to provide links or examples of published work)
Ability to assess/understand varied audience needs and points of view
Ability to make technical information clear and easy to understand within the context of telling stories
Ability to write with accuracy and speed
Broad range of writing assignments including technical blogs, abstracts, transcripts, presentation scripts, pieces for company intranet
Strong project management skills. Must have the ability to work under tight deadlines and find ease with some level of ambiguity
Proactive, energetic, efficient, resourceful team player with a dedication to excellence
Exhibits high levels of tact and diplomacy
Highly organized, results focused
BA/BS in Communications, Business, Marketing, Journalism or English
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel required
Experience with Jive and SharePoint a plus
Experience using social media platforms and tools a plus
Rate: D.O.E. as a w2 employee of Crawford Group; benefits available
Location: Primarily offsite/remote/virtual/WFH/telecommute. Candidates must have flexibility (with reasonable notification) to occasionally go to clients��� office in Santa Cruz for periodic interviews or meetings, as needed. Local S.F. Bay Area candidates only; no phone calls, please.
Hours/Duration: 32 hours per week to start, potential to expand to 40 hours per week. Work times flexible within standard business hours, PST. ASAP - ongoing
