Description
As Director, Event Marketing, you "Set the stage" for SugarCRM, planning and managing major global marketing events for the company, including SugarCon, the company's annual user conference. As a key member of the corporate marketing team, you will work with all core marketing teams (Product Marketing, Creative Services, PR, Demand Generation Digital marketing, Social Media.) as well as other relevant internal business partners and C-suite to ensure that SugarCRM events support the overall marketing plan. This position reports to the Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing.
Responsibilities
Plan and manage the company's major marketing events, including SugarCon, the company's annual user conference, global roadshows, and major tradeshows, like Gartner Symposium/IT Expo, Gartner Summits, and CRM Expo.
Work with the marketing team to determine appropriate marketing materials (data sheets, brochures, backgrounders, case studies, demos), sponsorships, promotions and staffing for each event.
Work with SugarCRM design teams to manage creation of display graphics promotions and other materials for trade shows
Develop briefing materials for event staff, explaining key roles, responsibilities, messages and resources available for each event
Provide "corporate level" support for regional marketing teams around the world – managing creation of signage and display graphics for global corporate events
Manage event budgets and plans, keeping all vendors on track and within budget during all stages of event planning and production.
Work with the marketing team to develop, and execute online/offline ads and campaigns, web email marketing to drive participation in events
Manage evaluation and reporting of performance statistics and overall project traction and key metrics
Qualifications
Deliver extraordinary customer relationships
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field
Minimum 8+ years of event marketing experience for tech related companies
Strong program and budget management experience and organizational skills
Excellent project/program management skills
Track record of taking projects from inception to successful execution
Must have strong initiative, adaptability and focused attention to detail
Strong collaborator but also works well independently with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Capacity to prioritize effectively and remain deadline-driven
High standards of excellence; desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced communications environment
Ability to challenge existing assumptions, to develop innovative strategies and solutions and execute new initiatives
Respect and expect accountability
