Our client is a hot cloud technology start-up company. Their cutting-edge offerings help companies to increase effectiveness and efficiency to automat and scale to the cloud. As a result of their expansion we are seeking an entrepreneurial and proven sales executive with experience selling any offerings as they relate to cloud storage, public cloud, disaster recovery, and/or virtualization for this great opportunity. The company offers a competitive compensation package along with an equity position for qualified candidates.
Position title: Regional Sales Director
Location: Anywhere in Bay area, California area
Position description:
This is a highly visible, individual contributor role within this small, start-up company where you will work and help to develop new customers, partners, and prospects. You will work closely with a regional sales engineer and executive management to successfully develop channel partners (such as managed service providers and VAR's/Resellers) in the geographic region and to drive large enterprise opportunities.
Position responsibilities:
•Strategize with executive sales management to implement an effective sales execution plan for the assigned region
•Provide leadership for targeted account opportunities with support from regional sales engineer, inside sales and extended internal support and delivery resources.
•Accurately forecast sales opportunities, and maintain accurate opportunity details in Salesforce.com
•Recruit and develop a strong network of channel partners in the region, and support and collaborate as required to drive business through strategic partners and alliances
•Communicate effectively with account team(s) and other internal resources, as well as with partners and end-customers
•Represent the company at seminars and tradeshows as required
Required skills and experience:
•8-10+ years of field-based software sales experience in the enterprise account market with experience also developing effective channel and alliance partnerships
•Experience and knowledge of datacenter infrastructure hardware and software in addition to an overall understanding of the public cloud, with emphasis areas to include virtualization, AWS, disaster and recovery/data backup solutions, storage and networking.
•Reasonable depth of technical aptitude for solution sales effectiveness
•Ability to demonstrate solution ROI and value proposition effectively
•Strong selling and closing skills with a proven track record of exceeding quotas
•Excellent at "qualifying" and prioritizing opportunities and ability to multi-task and execute on multiple opportunities
•Entrepreneurial, self- motivated, goal oriented. Prior experience working in a start-up environment a huge plus
•Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal with a strong sense of urgency. Customer and deal-driven
•Ability to travel through region as required
•Bachelor's Degree or higher
