POSITION – DATA SCIENTIST TA
LOCATION – SAN FRANCISCO, CA
DURATION – 6 MONTHS +
TYPE – CONTRACT
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support students in learning data analysis and data engineering topics,
• Mentor students in their development of project on Big Data and Data Science.
• Prepare lab activities on Big Data and Analytics.
• Contribute to building learning experiences (content curation, visiting strategic governments and academies, showing Networking Academy portfolio
• Present short session on specific technical topics in Data Analysis and Data Engineering.
• Collaborate with other TAs in Maintaining the Laboratory infrastructure
Suitable candidates will possess the following professional and personal background:
• Fast learner
• Strong experience in the use of R software ecosystem for every step of a data science process (Data Collection, Data Wrangling, Data Analysis, Data Product).
• Graduate of, or experience equivalent to, the Johns Hopkins data science specialization available on Coursera.
• Experience in various aspects of data engineering like: DBMS (SQL, NoSQL); Apache Hadoop ecosystem.
• Experience in products from market leaders in the domain like: Tableu, Splunk, SAS.
• Previous experience of teaching in IT educational programs and projects in the private and/or public sector.
• Excellent communication skills (presentations, teaching, etc.)
• Capable of independent work and collaborative team work, with a flexible approach, problem solving skills, dynamic, and with entrepreneurial spirit
• Previous experience in applying Data Analysis or engineering to Internet of Things (IoT) problems
• Experience with Python for data science ecosystem (especially libraries)
• Fluency in English
• Passionate about education
• Passionate about the potential of Big Data for social benefit and for corporate social responsibility
