HR Generalist – Contract Engagement
Location: Alameda, CA
Wind River is wholly owned Intel subsidiary headquartered in Alameda, CA. Our HR Team is a true strategic partner to our global software business units. We have a consulting opportunity for a collaborative and experienced HR Generalist/Human Resources Business Partner who will be responsible for providing support to our employees and other HR Business Partners. The areas of support may include but are not limited to: performance management, policy guidance, employee relations, and other administrative processes. Self-sufficiency and a willingness to get involved in day-to-day operations are critical.
The responsibilities may include the following:
Building Relationships: Drive effective relationships that promote company-wide trust and value for the HR function. Work to understand and respond to the business and HR needs of employees. Provide thoughtful and helpful coaching to employees and seek to build trust and credibility in all relationships.
Employee Relations: Promote a fair, professional and safe environment for all employees. Manage employee relations issues and work with managers and employees to successfully resolve problems and sensitive matters promptly and ethically. May support investigations while upholding strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Performance Management: Execute performance management processes across the company which includes goal setting, performance reviews and bonus administration. Address performance issues and partners with managers to create and implement action plans.
Organizational Functional Effectiveness: Support and execute organizational restructurings/reduction in force (RIFs) as needed. Manage the daily support of onboarding, transfers, promotions, and all other employee/position changes.
HR Policies Procedures: Possess and employ a solid working knowledge of HR laws and policies and administers HR operational processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus 4 or more years of HR generalist experience. Broad HR experience in a variety of disciplines including performance management, employee relations, and HR policies and procedures.
• Experience participating on an HR team and in a collaborative environment
• Excellent customer focus and relationship building skills. Proven track record of successfully servicing client groups and collaborating with an HR team. Builds and manages relationships with diverse employees ranging from managers to individual contributors.
• Proactive business partner. Proven success with implementing HR strategies which assisted the business in achieving its goals is a plus.
• Strong change management skills. Comfortable with constant change and able to methodically work through problems, set priorities and execute on commitments.
• Strong HR knowledge. Solid understanding of local employment law, coupled with the ability to understand global laws as needed.
• Skilled with Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience in high-tech preferred.
• PHR certification is a plus.
