The Role: Senior Quality Engineer

Our client, a leading microelectronics company, has a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join their team. As the Senior Quality Engineer, you will champion the quality assurance system and provide support production programs. Interested candidates must be experienced in Senior Quality Engineering principles as well as in-house support of existing AS9100 processes. Candidates must also have leadership skills which can be further developed and leveraged for future growth into management. In this hands-on role, you will practice Lean Manufacturing Quality Engineering, with mentors who are experts in the industry. Instead of just identifying the problems and passing them on to be fixed, you will be intricately involved in leading the production team in solving production challenges at all points in the process. Your desire to embrace the Toyota and/or LEAN philosophy and to provide proactive quality support to the production process will bring tremendous value to our organization.

This opportunity is located in Northern Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities:
• Work with our suppliers to resolve and improve Quality related issues, working both
reactively and proactively addressing problems that exist or may exist in the manufacturing
process during production
• Interact with supplier personnel, internal customers and external customers to set the standard
for production quality on the front and evaluate production quality after delivery
• Lead Root Cause Analysis projects.
• Monitor process and product quality through area surveillance and quality metrics
• Provide quality technical support for hardware test procedure development and
implementation
• Maintain all aspects of AS9100, ISO 9001:2000 and MIL-PRF-38534 Quality Systems
• Interpret and implement quality assurance requirements applicable to major programs,
supporting the transitions of new hardware from engineering to production phases

Requirements:
• BS in Engineering, preferably with an emphasis in either Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical
• A minimum of 4 years experience in a Quality Engineering related role
• Experience in supplier surveillance and assessment along with assembly/manufacturing,
integration and test operations in a high reliability environment
• Demonstrated track record of utilizing formal problem solving methods.
• Experience in a LEAN Manufacturing environment is beneficial
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with both the production team and
clients in a collaborative team manner.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-883 microelectronic inspection criterion and test methods
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO and MIL-PRF-38534 disciplines and application to program activities
• Basic skills in statistical analysis and Six Sigma. Certified Quality Engineer is a plus
• Experience with MS Office Suite to generate charts, graphs and create presentations of metric
data
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance level
• Must be able to travel 3-4 days per month (as required)
