Event Marketing - Demand Generation Manager

The Corporate Event Marketing team is responsible for delivering Oracle's vision, strategy, direction and innovation through a variety of worldwide events ranging from Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne to other large-scale events. These events target prospects, customers, developers and partners at all levels within an organization. The group's main objective is to produce the right event, with the right messages at the right time to the right audience.

The Demand Generation Manager role is critical to the audience acquisition / demand generation cycle for Oracle's large events and conferences as well as communication of event messaging to the targeted audiences. The successful candidate will help drive the execution of the demand generation plan for Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne. Elements of this role include, but are not limited to:

- Execution of the global demand generation plan for Oracle's flagship conferences, Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne.
- Work closely with key internal partners in the execution of the demand generation plan, including other members of the events team, the campaigns team, web team, social media teams, and the creative services/branding team.
- Track the progress of event marketing campaigns, done in conjunction with the various teams we work with.


Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated experience leading a virtual team through the execution of a complex demand generation plan
- Ability to quickly prioritize and reprioritize different demand generation pieces as timelines and messaging change.
- Effective communication across the virtual team as well as with other stakeholders.
- Ability to track all aspects of the demand generation plan and take the necessary steps to keep all pieces moving forward on time.
- Detail oriented
- Deep understanding of audience acquisition for events
- Excellent proof-reading skills required; editing and writing skills a plus.


Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar demand generation role and work environment.
- An understanding of corporate events and the overall event demand generation cycle.
- Experience with high-volume events with audience size ranging from 500 to 50,000.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and persuasion skills.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, attention to detail and focus on results.
- High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm and commitment.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic environment and willingness and openness to learn.
- Ability to work in a high-pressured, fast-moving and challenging environment.
