The Role: Director of Customer Experience
The Location: Austin, TX
TrackingPoint is an early-stage startup in the military electro-optics market. Founded by a well-respected and proven team of entrepreneurs, TrackingPoint is on a path to transform weapon system performance by the application of its groundbreaking technology.
We are seeking a world-class expert and creative genius to found the Customer Experience Group. An essential member of the product development team, the Director of Customer Experience will drive the product design vision to create a stellar user experience with TrackingPoint products. They will be the artistic director and create and perfect the customer's user interface. The Director of Customer Experience will oversee our staff artists and any outsourced industrial & packaging design firms/people. This position requires the ability to provide artistic and design leadership to the team in a fast-paced, start-up environment. The position requires an individual that can bring industrial design, ergonomics, video presentation, video meta-data fusion and 3D effects together in an elegant and easy to use product.
Required Skills & Experience
œ Bachelorfs Degree or relevant work in the fields of Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, User Interface, Human Factors/Ergonomics, Human Engineering or other applicable fields
œ At least five or more years of related design experience including experience with consumer electronics development
œ Strong talent and good intuition for creating engaging and elegant user interfaces
œ Thorough understanding of product ergonomics
œ Expert defining form to follow function and show intention and a discerning aesthetic eye
œ Well versed in specifying video image processing techniques including content transformations, transitions, sequencing, and others
œ Ability to simplify, clarify and structure product usage scenarios while meeting mission requirements
œ Background in 3D rendering to video, 3D simulation
œ Ability to take industrial design, ergonomics, video presentation, video meta-data fusion, and 3D effects together in an elegant and easy to use product
œ Must be able to effectively communicate artistic direction and customer experience perspectives to the team and the company
œ Background designing innovative packaging
