JOB DESCRIPTION:
Silver Tail Systems is looking for an experienced Solutions Engineer with substantial experience managing and deploying complex enterprise software systems inside a customer's own firewall. A solid understanding of the online or website fraud space, coupled with significant technical and people skills will be essential for success in this role. The two primary responsibilities will be to a) deploy the Silver Tail product suites and b) ensure customer success with those deployments. This individual should be highly motivated, resourceful, enjoy taking on new challenges, and be very comfortable working with the IT and security teams in the world's largest data centers. Silver Tail's customers are distributed around the world, so in addition to extensive travel, this will position will require the ability to deliver technical solutions to a remote and distributed team. This position is part of the Professional Services organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Solutions Engineer : Prefer Local Candidates) Strong in Linux/Scripting/Networking- (2-4 years of experience would be ideal for this role)
Perform remote and on-site installations of Silver Tail Systems software to meet customer requirements and expectations
Communicate with the sales, support and product organization to ensure smooth deployments, and bring customer successes to light.
Consistently evaluate the installation process to find new ways to improve the effectiveness and deployability of our offerings.
Able to lead project deployments with minimal supervision
Respond to customer system issues and ensure they are driven to resolution
Interact with the development team to understand software issues and resolution of those issues
Able to travel easily – both in the US and off-shore, more than 50%
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be expert in LINUX and fluent with shell scripting skills
Must understand distributed architecture
Must have basic networking understanding
Experience with port mirroring (SPAN or VACL) is a plus
Experience with secure protocols (SSL and HTTPS) is a plus
Intelligent and creative
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
At least 2-4- years of experience in support, engineering, or a combination of the two delivering enterprise software systems
