Summary
Patent Agent
As a patent agent, you will join a close-knit patent team where you will work with internal inventors/engineers and outside counsel in the preparation of patent applications. You will draft a number of provisional (and depending on skill set, possibly non-provisional) patent applications as needed.
In order to be effective in your job, you must have the ability to quickly acquire a deep understanding of a wide range of technologies. You will support engineers and project managers to mine and evaluate ideas for new patent applications. This will include conducting patentability analysis, assisting engineers to conduct prior art search and assisting managers to research the patent landscape. You will also be expected to assist with export compliance issues.
This is a contract to regular full-time position.
Necessary Skills /
Attributes
• BS degree in EE or CS, with solid credentials. Advanced degree will be a plus.
• Solid technical knowledge of software, computer science, and the Internet.
• At least 3 years of relevant patent prosecution experience.
• Eligible to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Demonstrable experience identifying patentable technologies.
• Strong written, verbal communication and people skills.
• Self-motivated, proven ability to work independently and a demonstrable history of being a genuine team member. Excellent work ethic, able to multi-task and be proactive.
