Director, Channel Marketing

Position Overview:



Channel Impact is helping our client to secure a new Director of Channel Marketing for the Service Provider space. This role is open to candidates in Washington DC.



The Director of Channel Marketing is responsible for designing, developing and executing revenue-generating, joint marketing programs with our client's Account Managers and Channel Partners worldwide. This role requires an experienced marketer with a strong understanding of channel marketing programs that drive significant sell-through growth. The channel marketing team drives all channel activities, including partner enablement, demand generation programs, partner launch activities, partner event management, sales promotions, demonstration tools, partner portal management, partner communications, sales blitz and partner recruitment/onboarding/incentive programs. You must have be driven, energetic, have excellent presentation skills, be able to manage, track and communicate budgets or program results, finally be able to collaborate and communicate verbally with executive staff, sales and customers.



Primary Responsibilities:

-Develop the overall partner marketing channel strategy and prioritize investments for the client's channel partners, including sales incentives, sell through programs, demonstration programs, enablement tools, funded resources, training and readiness programs to aggressively penetrate the SMB, Midmarket, Large Enterprise segments.

-Define, design and lead a cross-functional marketing programs that target multiple channel disciplines (Tier 1-3 Telco, master agents, sub-agents, value added resellers, system integrator, technology partners)

-Develop and implement comprehensive demand strategy, includes defining lead gen programs that enable the client to exceed revenue goals and communicating results to both executives and partners

-Manage and track the Marketing Development / Co-Op Fund program, build and recommend programs that scale across multiple partners based on proven ROI methodology.

-Develop, design, and define measurements for marketing programs. Monitor the execution of all channel-marketing programs by working closely with the channel sales team.

-Responsible for the global Partner Portal infrastructure, updating documents, posting new information, etc., for regional consumption.

-Responsible for advocating for the channel at annual Customer events (representing concerns/requirements of the Channel), and developing new partner programs to increase margins and revenues for both the client and our partners.

-Consistently evaluate, enhance and expand program components based on consistency with the client's overall business goals and marketing strategy, as well as target ROI, brand alignment, target business impact/ and execution requirements.

Evaluate and measure current processes, and where necessary, establish improvement programs to drive efficiency and improve program results.

-Strive to build credible and reliable relationships with executives within our most strategic partners

Implement partner listening tools through Social Media; execute social media campaigns, manage social platforms, monitor and measure conversations

-Promote the channel mission, purpose, and needs both internally and externally to expand awareness of program, value to partners and increase revenues for all participants

-Annually evaluate customer and partner needs to help build or improve ideal partner profiles and programs

-Consistently monitor competitive partner programs, events and content to maintain the client's position as a leader in partner programs.



Skills and Educational Requirements:

-Minimum 10 years Channel Marketing experience in enterprise applications (Communications preferred), preferably global experience.

-Strong understanding of Channel ecosystem – Tier 1-3 Telco, Master agents, sub-agents, VAR

-Experienced in all aspects of marketing campaign and demand generation activities including events, sales tools, demand gen campaigns, direct mail, e-marketing, search engine marketing, web marketing, marketing communications, incentive program design

-Demonstrated success in the development and execution of effective marketing campaigns

-Demonstrated success in the use of marketing automation tools to measure and improve campaign effectiveness

-Demonstrated success in developing broad-based awareness and nurturing programs

-Demonstrated ability to design strategic Marketing Plans and execute upon goals with high impact results

-Proven track record in leading and working effectively with cross-functional teams, including the product marketing, sales, training, operations, and finance.

-Strong writing skills are imperative.

-Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, presentation, and project management skills required.

-Excellent budget management skills required.

-Innovator with the ability to influence staff and management at all levels (internally and externally).

-Self-starter, someone who is capable of asserting their ideas and soliciting feedback.
