WhiteHat Security is headquartered in the Silicon Valley (Santa Clara) and also has a key technical team in Houston, Texas.
We are looking for a Sr. Accountant at our Santa Clara office.
This individual will need to have a well rounded background in the day to day operations of a maturing start up company. The role will require this person to be involved in all aspects of the close, from assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable to completing, reviewing and analyzing the balance sheet and income statement. This person will need to be high energy with a desire to implement new processes to improve efficiency and to collaborate with the accounting team to effectively report the company's financial position.
The specific responsibilities include the following:
-Analyze and monitor the transactions taking place in an organization and ensure that they are recorded according to the accounting standards. Knowledge of revenue recognition standards is needed.
-Prepare financial statements and management reports.
-Prepare budget vs. actual analysis.
-Preparation of revenue and deferred revenue entries. Knowledge of SaaS revenue recognition a plus.
-Prepare or review monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
-Review of accounts receivable transactions and accounts receivable aging
-Review of accounts payable and accrued expense balances.
-Assist with cash management analysis
-Monitor the physical assets of the company, their depreciation value and take effective steps to manage them.
-Keep a track of the shared and the indirect costs of the organization.
-Assist external auditors during audit.
-Manage the Use and Sales Tax accounting process.
-Manage the Fixed Asset procedure, policy and process.
-Study the revenues trends and expenses of the company so that they are appropriately recorded.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor´s degree in accounting from a reputed college/university. CPA, CMA candidates are preferred.
4-5 years of experience in a similar or related field.
A sound knowledge of the accounting and auditing principles.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Intacct or NetSuite
Knowledge of Software Revenue Recognition Policies a plus
