Position Description:
The Marketing Account Manager – Direct Mail manages and oversees implementation of direct mail campaigns from initial concept to creative execution and final analysis of results. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of direct mail marketing, with a particular emphasis on list/data sourcing, segmentation, data/list management, testing and analysis. This position will be responsible for generating new customer accounts for the NetSpend card brand and other prepaid card brands through direct mail and other direct-to-consumer marketing channels as needed. This position will manage Fulfillment package creative for several marketing channels. This position is based in San Mateo, CA, and there will be occasional travel to NetSpend's headquarters in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for campaign strategy, development, segmentation and execution of direct mail campaigns to acquire new cardholders for the NetSpend and other card brands.
• Manage creative development, message and offer testing strategy to optimize response rates.
• Key to success in this position will be your ability to actively source quality data/ list sources through online research, list brokers, lead and affiliate conferences, and networking.
• Secure data files to meet campaign execution timelines.
• Manage account relationships with data/list providers through performance monitoring and frequent correspondence.
• Negotiate pricing, execute contracts and ensure partner adheres to compliance policies.
• Maintain knowledge of data partner's offerings and contract obligations.
• Ensure payments are made to partners in accordance with contract/ insertion order terms.
• Oversee the operational and systemic setup of direct mail campaigns.
• Work closely with cross-functional team partners within Marketing, Creative, Analytics and Operations/ to implement campaigns and analyze performance.
• Manage acquisition budget, account forecasts and provide weekly business performance updates for mail campaign list sources.
• Partner with Customer Lifecycle Marketing team to share learnings, leverage creative best practices, optimize early lifecycle conversion experience and performance.
Skills/Education/Experience:
• Minimum 5-7 years solid B2C direct mail experience comprising strategy, execution and analysis.
• Bachelors Degree, preferably in business or communications.
• Multi-channel B2C marketing and lead generation experience with solid direct mail experience and data/list selection and segmentation. Solid direct marketer with hands on experience in managing creative, test plan design and analysis.
• Experience prospecting for new data and list sources, negotiating pricing and arranging on-time delivery of data files. Adept at building strong relationships with internal business partners and external vendors.
• Maintains good balance of strategic vision and tactical implementation. .
• Strong critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills.
• Data driven, analytical and comfortable working in a data intensive environment.
• Highly organized. Thrives in a fast-moving, changing environment with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated, outgoing with a self-directed entrepreneurial spirit. Has a can-do attitude.
• Strong professional ethics and impeccable personal integrity.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
