VP of Business Development at GreatNonprofits

The VP of Business Development is directly responsible for managing all revenue-generating activity for GreatNonprofits (www.greatnonprofits.org).

You will also be in charge of identifying and attracting technology customers, as well as foundation funders. The VP of Business Development will plan, coordinate and implement the revenue plans in order to meet organizational goals and budgets.
This position reports directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Business Development Management:

• Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with the GreatNonprofits' overall strategy.
• Drive all phases of business development, including research, market analysis, due diligence, and evaluation of partners
• Proactively identify key growth areas and evaluate opportunities to build market share.
• Develop and manage programs for different buyer audiences, products and services
• Manage contract negotiations
• Build excellent working relationships at all levels while coordinating integration planning of new businesses

Development Management:
• Prospect and cultivate relationships with foundation staff, corporate representatives and individual donors
• Prepare and submit foundation grants and corporate requests
• Report on development progress against targets

Compensation and Benefits:
• Compensation: We are a nonprofit and our salaries are below-market. We compensate by providing you with flexibility in schedule and your hours.

Desired Skills and Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of sales, business development, or fundraising experience preferred
• Strong verbal and writing skills to communicate the GreatNonprofits mission to others effectively
• Successful track record of business development, account management and direct sales strategy
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills and the ability to multi-task and meet aggressive deadlines
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, PPT, and Excel
• Prior work or volunteer experience at a nonprofit
• Preferred but not required: familiarity with fundraising, grant research, proposal writing, and individual donor cultivation.
