Responsible for contributing to the development of marketing communications plans and implementation of integrated marketing activities as they relate to public relations, trade shows and special events. Interface internally with marketing and sales, and externally with alliance partner companies, distributors, agencies, graphic designers, writers and other outside vendors for project objectives, content, concepting, design, layout, copywriting and printing of related promotional/communications materials as well as for the management of activities relating to trade shows, events and public relations.


As a major global semiconductor company with regional marketing communication teams operating in multiple regions around the world, this Americas-focused position would also be responsible to coordinate as needed with members of Renesas' Japan, Europe and Asia focused operations to ensure consistency and alignment of messaging, timing and to share resources whenever possible.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In this position, you will:


Trade Show/Events:

Manage budget for trade shows, technical events, print graphics and sales promotion items supporting an event or activity.

Work with Marketing to determine the promotional activity that best supports their specific plans/needs.

Develop and manage quantifiable objectives for event or trade show participation.

Work within Marcom team to plan orders of promotional materials and coordinate lead follow-up as required for trade shows and event.

Logistically plan and manage on-site delivery, set-up and take-down of show/event properties.

Inspect, review and inventory booth/display properties.



Promotional Literature Production:

Manage the strategic planning, development and implementation of all media relations with the goal of establishing and maintaining a favorable image of the company with the press, industry analysts, potential customers, employees, local communities and the public.

Manages the preparation and execution of strategic comprehensive public relations programs including development, timing and release of press announcements; authorship programs; and conference speaker placements.

Establishes the company as a thought leader with the media through executive programs.

Manages external corporate messaging

Ensures compliance to corporate company policies and procedures

Selects, establishes and maintains positive editor and industry analyst relations and serves as company spokesperson.

Collaborates frequently with worldwide PR managers for successful execution of product launches and corporate news

Manages the selection and management of vendors to develop strategic corporate and product positioning and messaging.

Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Serves as one of the key contacts for crisis communications management



General Activities:

Interface with local and international Marketing and Marketing Communications to develop plans and strategies that best communicate product positioning and messages.

Optimize Marcom's interaction with Marketing and the field to select the promotional mix that will yield the most effective results of integrated Marketing Communications programs.

Strategically and tactically work within the Marcom team to contribute to Marcom's integrated communications practices.

Develop and manage production schedules to ensure that deadlines are consistently met.

Maintain quality control standards and conformance to format specifications and procedures.

Ensure that projects are completed in accordance with time and cost constraints.


REQUIRED BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

To qualify for this position, you will need to have:

Minimum 5 years experience in BtoB Marketing Communications, preferably for an international technology company.

History in a highly integrated communications environment.

Understanding of and participation history in a team environment.

Minimum of 3 years experience in managing all aspects of trade show participation including budget, design, show selection, display input management, lead follow-up and logistics.

Minimum of 2 years print buyer experience.

An understanding of the printing trade, including technologies and resources available.

An understanding of the Web as a marketing vehicle for both internal and external communications.

Vendor and budget management experience.

Personnel management experience.

Computer literate including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, database and graphic design programs.

Inventory management experience.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and highly organized.

Ability to manage high profile projects and provide quantifiable reporting.


NECESSARY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

For this position, you will need the ability to:

Have a very flexible schedule as events and additional program responsibilities may take place days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Interface with Marketing and Marcom personnel at Renesas Electronics America, Renesas Electronics Japan and its worldwide subsidiaries, and Renesas America's sales and marketing management teams, to build consensus regarding our Marcom plans and strategy and support for their execution.

Stay abreast of industry trends and issues to support project direction and recommendations. This requires highly developed oral and written communications skills, as well as an understanding of significant industry trends and issues.

Manage fast moving activities on the part of many third-party contractors and subject matter experts, maintaining high standards while remaining flexible in implementation.

Understand state-of-the-art capabilities in the areas of event management, promotion, printing, and messaging through events, promotional pieces and graphic design. Keep these capabilities, and competitive best practices, in view of Renesas Marcom and Marketing management.

Have a track record as a communications professional with demonstrated positive results.
