Director, WW Sales Operations
Location: SF Bay Area
Report to the Senior VP of WW Sales & Field Operations


The Director of WW Sales Operations is responsible for innovating, creating, developing and executing strategic programs across Wind River that help drive and accelerate business growth.

Responsibilities include:

Representing the Senior Vice President and interfacing with the following Executives and Departments:

o Executives including the President, COO, Super Geos: Sr VP Americas Sales; President, Japan Sales; VP APAC Sale; VP EMEA Sales; VP of Corporate Sales; Sr VP, WW Engineering
o Product & Corporate Marketing
o R&D & Product Divisions
o Legal, Deal Desk & Field Productivity
o Sales Compensation & Director of Finance

Key responsibility to define, devise and execute strategic programs, manage projects and follow up on key initiatives including, but not limited to:

o Executive Sponsor Program – Leverage executive relationships to build customer loyalty and drive growth in Strategic Tier 1 Accounts.
o Deal Sponsor Program – Leverage influence of major players from all business units to help close critical deals on a quarterly basis.
o Knowledge Management Program – Create a library of success stories referencing successful deals in each vertical to be used across Wind River's worldwide sales organization.
o Customer Visit Process - Increase the interactions with customers whereby they visit Wind River and participate in strategic discussions and sales campaigns
o Analyze data and execute on projects aimed at improving profitability in Tier 3 Accounts, through sales process and post sales execution assessment and change
o Responsible for setting up field sales training for new hires, including new product and sales methodology training and providing sales enablement tools

Work to continuously improve Wind River's sales practices and methods of tracking key metrics
Analyze and understand the financial aspects of sales trends, futures, forecasting and results
Establish credibility with executives and sales leaders by listening, following up in a timely manner and delivering on commitments
Management of annual sales kickoff event and offsite meetings, including the agenda, attendees, guests and content


Requirements include:

The Director of WW Sales Operations will have at least a Bachelor's degree; 15+ years experience in sales and sales management in a software business (with semiconductor industry experience as an alternative); familiarity with multiple selling methodologies excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills; knowledge of technology selling (e.g. enterprise software, EDA, development tools); and a passion to succeed by optimizing the performance of a world wide sales team.

We are looking for someone with strong independent thinking and judgment that knows his/her responsibilities and takes care of business with minimal supervision. An ability to work in an entrepreneurial, ever changing environment is critical.
