The Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (OFJCC) on the Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life serves the South Peninsula through educational, social, cultural, fitness, sports and other wellness programs. Overview of the Role:
Are you passionate about working at an organization that serves the community through outstanding programs for all demographics? Then perhaps you belong here! The OFJCC seeks a candidate to orchestrate the complete grant/request cycle for Foundation and Corporate sponsors (initial inquiry, letters of intent, grants, reporting, sponsorship opportunities, etc). This individual will handle most writing for department, including development publications, department collateral, event invitations, etc.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Reach out to potential funders to develop relationships and gather information before submitting proposals
• Try to maintain funding from current foundation and corporate donors
• Secure new funding from corporations and foundations
• Write grants
• Manage grants database to track awards, requirements and correspondence with foundation and corporate officers
• Write Letters of Intent (work with program staff, if needed)
• Own Legacy Giving program: create collateral, manage portfolio of legacy donors
• Produce grant reports (with program staff, if needed)
• Write program-specific reports for donors providing contributions directed toward specific purposes
• Draft invitations, thank you letters, articles for newsletters, content for website
• Implement event strategies prior to planning events
• Prospects for organizational campaigns
Qualifications Skills:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master's a plus
• 3-4 years relevant work experience including grant writing
• Proven track record in grant writing including but not limited to local, state and federal grants
• Excellent writing skills
• Knowledge of grant administration systems, processes and budgeting
• Proven ability to communicate information clearly and expertly (both written and oral)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 2010 and donor databases
• Mature judgment, diplomacy in handling sensitive and/or confidential matters
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing work environment
