Client is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture, and sale of technology-based, customized blow-molded plastic containers for the branded food and beverage, household, personal care/specialty, and automotive lubricants product categories. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced, team-oriented individual for a Night 12 Hour Shift Production Supervisor in our Harrisonburg, VA facility.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership to the technical hourly employees that engage in various facets of our highly automated, fast paced production operation. Some of the responsibilities include: safety, quality, service, housekeeping, technical training, productivity, labor utilization, warehousing and control of raw materials.
Responsibilities:
Provides a strong floor presence and understanding of the processes adequate to set the example for others to follow.
Handles day-to-day production documentation, ensures its accuracy and timely input into reporting systems.
Provides training to shift personnel to make sure all employees have the tools necessary for optimum performance.
Utilizes data systems to identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement.
Champions all safety initiatives within the facility to ensure all safety goals and objectives are met, maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.
Ensures that all products produced meet or exceed GPC and customer specifications.
Oversee the performance of all quality checks performed by associates.
Handles routine issues with regards to employee relations.
Requirements:
3 to 5 years' experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations or related field is preferred.
Strong technical aptitude to work in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
Experience in implementing Lean/Six Sigma initiatives a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
Strong leadership abilities to motivate and develop employees.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work the night shift operation schedule.
