Senior HR Systems Specialist: Alameda, CA

The Senior HR Systems Specialist is a key member of our Alameda- based Human Resources team. Reporting to the Director of Compensation and HR Systems, this person is an internal expert responsible for HR systems, applications, and reporting. This position is responsible for both the Oracle HR database and the talent management system. In addition to handling day-to-day requests and supporting internal annual processes, this person will serve as an internal consultant for ad hoc projects and departmental initiatives.

Responsibilities:

- Serve as the primary point of contact on all HR systems issues and projects, acting as interface between functional leaders/users and HR colleagues
- Enhance and develop HR automation and employee/manager self-service functionality
- Advise internal customers with regard to HR data in support of enterprise decision-making.
- Deliver training to HR end users and ensure HR user manual is up to date and accessible.
- Plan, manage and implement Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing for ORACLE HR enhancements/upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and develop solutions to business and technical problems in creative and effective ways using in-depth system analysis, which may involve collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Act as subject matter expert and provide maintenance for ORACLE HR and other HR related applications.
- Perform audits of data entry to ensure accuracy and completeness of data, working with end users to resolve identified issues.
- Recommend process improvements and document end user requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Act as project manager for assigned HR priorities; may guide other personnel as needed
- Conduct corporate Intranet site needs analysis, design and maintenance for HR web.
- Responsible for reporting and analysis of HR Metrics – ability to show trends and areas of possible concern
-May assist other functions within the HR department as needed

Experience, skills and abilities:

- Bachelor degree or equivalent in HR, computer science, or related area
- 8+ years HRIS/HR systems experience
- Strong experience with Oracle (version 11.5.10), SQL, talent management systems (e.g., Success Factors, Cornerstone, Halogen), MS Excel, MS Access, HTML coding and web design
- Strong knowledge of HR function and related business processes
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including ability to communicate proactively
- Ability to work effectively in a global environment (e.g., cultural differences)
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of sensitive data
- Demonstrated background in project management, with ability to deliver quality results on time
- Ability to prioritize and manage responsibilities with limited supervision
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to collaborate and multi-task
- Experience with implementation of both in-house and out-sourced software applications
- Proven ability to lead or play a key role in HR Systems implementations
- Ability to see the "Big Picture" and work towards the future
- Experience with business systems analysis, design, development and implementation
- Knowledge of relational database concepts and design within a client-server environment
- Experience with web authoring software applications a plus
- Interest in learning and contributing to other functions within HR
