Employment Law Compliance Manager Position- Angelica Corporation - north Atlanta/Alpharetta, GA
Angelica Corporation, a national leader in linen management,
is seeking an Employment Compliance Manager at our Corporate office located in Alpharetta, GA.
This position reports to the Director of Compliance and Labor Relations.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing Angelica’s employment compliance function and supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of a regulatory compliance program. The Compliance Manager serves the Angelica population by assisting with developing, revising, and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, analyzing data and managing potential compliance issues and concerns, and providing coaching, counseling and training as needed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise management and Human Resources on EEO principles and Angelica policy relating to employment actions in compliance with state & federal laws and regulations
- Design, implement and monitor internal auditing and reporting systems to measure effectiveness of EEO/AAP policies and procedures, and produce reports on EEO/AAP as required by the EEOC and OFCCP
- Research and analyze Federal laws, regulations; interpret and consult Title 5 of the United States Code, OPM, and Agency policies to provide expert policy advice
- Manage Angelica’s statistical data and reporting process of Affirmative Action Plans for minorities and women for all Angelica locations (corporate headquarters, service centers and depots)
- Monitor Angelica's personnel activities and Affirmative Action goals accomplishments
- Analyze statistical of Affirmative Action Plans to determine underutilization or possible adverse impact
- Set affirmative action goals and review the Angelica’s progress
- Track and manage compliance with all Angelica OFCCP conciliation agreements and status reports
- Assist in development of company policies, practices and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws
- Serve as main point of contact during desk and on-site government audits
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with various community outreach programs
- Develop and implement recruiting strategies to achieve required staffing levels while ensuring compliance with the Company's legal obligations as to EEO/Affirmative Action laws.
- Provide coaching, counseling, training and corporate compliance orientations as requested by management team
Travel Required
The Compliance Manager position requires occasional travel for on-site OFCCP audits, employee trainings, etc. Employees are responsible for creating and submitting expense reports each week for expenditures incurred during travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. degree in Business, Human Resources or a similar field, or comparable training and experience in the field
- 3-5 years compliance and operational risk experience
- Strong problem solving, organization, and presentation skills
- Able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with all levels of personnel, to include senior management
- Strong MS Office skills including Word and Excel
- Team-oriented mentality
Preferred Qualifications:
- PHR or SPHR Certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience in a Labor Union environment
- Experience with dispersed employee populations
Work Environment
The working environment is indoors and is seasonally heated and cooled with minimal noise levels. The position requires considerable sitting, typing and the ability to move objects of less than 25 pounds. The position requires the ability to communicate in person, telephonically and via email.
