Benefits Administrator - San Mateo
Create a career in benefits account management -- pursue your interest in employee health and welfare benefits, claims management, plan design and benefits marketing. There is an opportunity to obtain a license in benefits administration.
This role is part of an experienced account service team environment  mentoring and support is available. The best candidate is service-focused, with a commitment to exceptional client service. Responsibilities include:
 Assist clients with claims, billing, and eligibility questions, EOB explanations, process claims re-submission to carriers and process Over Age Dependents
 Resolve client health and welfare benefit plan issues, research compliance questions
 Report payroll changes, provide updated confirms and/or reports
 Prepare and send new hire packets, maintain a supply of materials
 Audit activities including new hires, termination notifications and changes to carriers
 Effectively partner with benefit carrier representatives to swiftly resolve outstanding employee services issues
 Review carrier invoicing for accuracy prior to client delivery, assist with carrier billing reconciliations, review carrier discrepancy reports
 Review insurance contracts and client communications
 Track status of new plan implementation, contract review, and renewals
 Coordinate with vendors regarding Open Enrollment and attend Open Enrollment Meetings
We require
 AA or AS degree
 1-3 years of experience in benefits administration
 General knowledge of employee benefits
 Strong written communications skills
 Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products, specifically excel
