The Symmetricom Human Resources team is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to join us in our San Jose, CA headquarters.
This is a key role in developing and driving the compensation programs that enhance our ability to attract, retain and reward Symmetricom talent âÂÂ"in a performance based culture.
You will be influential in the design and implementation of compensation programs for base salary, short-term incentive plans, long term incentive plans, compensation communications and training, as well as compensation technology and tools.
Responsibilities are focused in the following key areas:
Compensation Programs
* Develops, analyzes, implements and administers company compensation programs that address base, incentive, ESPP, stock option and recognition programs.
* Evaluates the effectiveness of current programs and recommends changes as appropriate. Administers salary focal process; including design and configuration responsibilities for automated system.
* Participates in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company�s competitive position.
* Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of action.
Sales Commissions Incentives
* Supports activities needed for the design, implementation, communication and administration of sales commission and incentive programs.
* Compiles monthly commission payment reports and reviews for accuracy and completeness and resolves reconciliation issues. Able to verify and follow through, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of commission payments as outlined in the plan.
* Uses SPM system and spreadsheets to create and/or gather data for payment calculations and analysis.
* Will contribute to the development or improvement of systems to effectively calculate, track and report sales performance and compensation data.
Talent Management
* Facilitates and influences development of annual goal planning, performance management and other âÂÂtalentâ related processes, including design and configuration responsibilities as required for automated systems.
Job Bank
* Audits jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements.
* Performs job analysis and reviews requests for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate salary grade assignment.
* Formulates recommendations regarding FLSA exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures.
Job Requirements
* BS/BA degree and a minimum of 8 years of professional, related work experience, OR MA/MBA and a minimum of 5 years related work experience in a publicly traded company.
* Knowledgeable regarding special areas of compensation (e.g., salary focal, ESSP, incentives) and will lead projects that require that specialized knowledge.
* Super User experience level with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word-advanced spreadsheet skills including ability to apply functions such as the look-ups, date conversion, pivot tables, and mathematical formulas.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills; collaborative and organized workstyle
* Business Awareness âÂÂ" understands current and possible future business trends and information
* Program Management experience
* Proficiency with Workday and/or Xactly Incent preferred
* World at Work Certified Compensation Professional a plus
