Role: Employee Communications Manager- Change Management
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Time Commitment: 30 hours
Position Overview:
Channel Impact is seeking a part time Employee Communications Manager to assist our high
tech client with a change management initiative targeted at their employee base. The ideal
candidate will have deep experience with employee communication as well as change
management.
This is a W2 opportunity with Channel Impact.
Responsibilities Include:
• This individual would work with organizational change lead and functional/process team leads
to understand changes from current to future state and craft presentation materials that educate
employees on the key changes within their function. These materials will be turned into web
based, possibly interactive, training sessions to be leveraged for go live.
• Additionally, this individual would work closely with organizational change lead and the HR
Business Partners to craft scripts and presentation material for managers and leaders to use with
their teams as they communicate organizational changes.
• Partner with the organizational change lead, and the internal communications manager, to
craft emails or develop 1-2 slides for Vice Presidents and above to send out or use in their
organization-wide presentations providing a brief update on the initiative.
• Work with Program Management Office, executive program sponsors, organizational change
lead, and functional/process team leads to understand changes from current to future state and
collaborate throughout the program to ensure creation and delivery of clear messages to
stakeholders
• Develop communications strategy and plan for key initiatives and provide iterations and
updates as requirements changes
• Track effectiveness of communications and update plans to address areas of improvement
• Work with appropriate team member to develop and project manage written and verbal
communications deliverables to educate stakeholder audiences on key changes at the company
and impact in their function or processes
• Incorporate Change Readiness and People Team stakeholder results and findings into all
communications: stay closely linked to all updates
• Set up program resource infrastructure/branding with foundational slide deck, intranet page,
and other ongoing tools
• Serve as focal point for general and common stakeholder group queries and requests
• For Project Team Effectiveness Communications, provide communication
strategy/deliverables, advise, review, and provide feedback for high level intra-team materials
(TBD) to ensure consistency and quality of content; Be "on-call" for urgent/VIP deliverables
• Create communications plan for Ambassador/Business Champion program working with the
client; advise on deliverables and help craft messages and presentation material
• Add new audiences, messages, and proposed deliverables to communications plan as
appropriate and as needs evolve
• Develop presentation materials to be used with managers and individual contributors on
topics of overall changes in process and technology, latest status of the project, as well as how
the project ties to overall company vision and direction, and change management concepts. Will
likely leverage process/technology material, as well as other material developed by Internal
Communications Manager for roadshows.
• The ideal candidate will use their excellent listening skills to translate deep, silohed content
in to something that can be easily executed and understood by all. Must be able to distill subject
matter content in to something employees can easily understand.
• Have the ability to prioritize what the audience really needs to know, and to build a
communication strategy and execution plan to support those key messages.
Skill Sets:
- Experience with change management communications
- Experience with development of employee communications
- Experience working in the technology sector
- Great verbal and written communications skills
- Strong Power Point skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Experience and ability to interview subject matter experts, distill gathered information and
turn findings into a compelling and brief presentation
- Required to be on-site 80%
- Self starter
