Employee is responsible for collecting furniture, food and clothing donations and for general maintenance. Promote EHP's values of

Primary Responsibilities

1. Pick up in-kind donations as scheduled.

2. Collect recurring food and clothing donations from local businesses such as Costco and Second Harvest Food Bank

3. Unload truck nightly to prepare for next day's pickups

4. Unload and stock food and furniture donation in appropriate place

5. Date and rotate food items in cooler/freezer before restocking

6. Assist with food closet and warehouse organization and cleanup.

7. Maintain mechanical operation of program vehicles

8. Report mechanical issues to manager

9. Keep truck, vans and associated equipment tidy and operable

10. Assist with other duties as needed

Note: In addition to the primary duties, other duties (e.g. supervision of volunteers, program assistance) will be required. The job description shall not be construed as a contract and is not a complete list of all miscellaneous, incidental or other duties which may be assigned during normal operations. Overtime will be required during certain times of the year.

Required Skills/Experience

1. Some experience in a non-profit sector is preferred, not required

2. 2-3 year experience as a Truck Driver

3. Experience moving large furniture items

4. Possess valid CA driver's license (commercial license preferred, not required); and clear driving record

5. Proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English

6. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication/Customer Service Skills

7. Knowledge of proper safety principles when operating equipment and machinery, including but not limited to operating electrical and manual pallet jacks and forklifts; and experience with use of dollies

8. Ability to move/unload pallet size material (1,000 pounds or greater) with lift gate

9. Ability to lift over 50 pounds.

10. Represent EHP in a positive manner at all times to donors and the public
