Job Title Graphic/ Web Designer
Duties
- Assist in developing and designing marketing materials including brochures, ads, mailers and promotional pieces.
- May independently design smaller scale pieces.
- Participate on project teams to plan, analyze, organize and execute projects.
- Provide periodic updates to the team on the status of assignments.
- Coordinate the work of external vendors to ensure quality and consistency.
- Coordinate the details of events such as photo shoots and press runs to ensure they run smoothly.
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise. May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
- This position interacts with equivalent levels of internal and external personnel.
- That interaction requires good oral and written communication skills and facilitation skills to understand the goals and needs of the assigned customer group and deliver a quality product.
- Effectiveness in this role also requires functional knowledge of relevant graphic design software.
- The incumbent works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires a review of identifiable factors.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures.
- The incumbent normally receives general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments.
- Assist in migration of content and HTML web pages from various systems into a single content-management system.
- Optimize images for web and create layouts of web pages.
- Create HTML pages within the content management system with direction from Lead/Senior Designers, Content Leads, and Marketing Managers.
- Manage workflow and maintain tight deadlines of multiple, simultaneous projects, with prioritization guidance from Marketing Management.
- Understand site architecture and navigational guidelines, both best practices and based on company styles.
Skills
- 3+ years of industry experience with consumer-facing web sites, experience with community software platforms a plus.
- Ability to capture, document, summarize and clearly articulate requirements from multiple sources.
- Fluency in Adobe CS4/CS5(Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks) (Adobe Audition, Premier Pro, and/or Final Cut Pro a plus).
- Solid understanding & experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS.
- Strong understanding of web optimization techniques; search engine optimization and search engine marketing.
- Experience developing for cross-browser compatibility (including IE, Mozilla/Firefox, Safari , Opera, and Chrome ).
- Experience working with content management systems.
- Familiarity with web scripting languages such as JavaScript and AJAX and experience with Flash a Plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player who is prepared to go the extra mile to accomplish mission critical objectives.
Education
- Requires a BA or BS in Graphic Design or equivalent education and experience.
- Associates degree in a related discipline or 3+ years of industry experience with consumer-facing web sites
Location:- South San Francisco, CA
