FT/PERM Position: Senior Systems Support Engineer/Software Architect - Broomfield, Colorado or Virtual (MUST be US Based)
THE JOB: Support our clients to work through their technical questions on open source including walking client’s through the best ways to utilize the product, trouble shooting, making recommendations on product use. Possibility of infrequently the person in this role may be involved in presenting training classes (both onsite and remote depending on need of the client) as well as short-term professional service engagements. (The engagements would require the person filling this role to assist with architect and design solutions; working on internal projects; and enhancing current skills by continuing to learn new open source technologies.)
Responsibilities:
· Drive resolution of those problems, which include: source software issues; Questions around open source software usage.; Questions around use and best practices; Review of the architecture and design where software is implemented.
· Interact with various open source communities via user groups, etc. and share information acquired from these affiliations with other teammates. (i.e. articles, blogs, conference presentations, etc.)
· Research, understand, and advocate open source software.
· Supply Tier 1, 2 and 3 support for open source products.
· Interact with end users on various technical problems.
· Participate in on-call rotation with teammates.
Qualifications:
· In depth experience in minimum of EIGHT the following areas is required: Linux (focus primary on CentOS or Ubuntu); JBoss Application Server; Apache HTTPD; Apache Tomcat; Java and J2EE; PostgreSql; Hibernate; HornetQ; Drools; Spring; MySQL.
· Experience in the utilization, maintenance, support and design of open-source software is critical to this role. Candidates not having this experience cannot be considered for this position.
· He/she will have a strong technical knowledge with skills and expertise in web-based software , complex infrastructure and enterprise software.
· The ideal candidate will be highly technical and will have proven professional experience providing technical support to customers.
· 5 years of software development and design; systems administration and/or level 3-4 technical support experience combined.
