Senior Corporate Marketing Manager
The Senior Corporate Marketing Manager is responsible for helping to develop and take the VMware corporate message to market. In a role that combines both strategy and execution, you will prepare the go-to-market plan that evangelizes and measures the impact of our corporate message internally and externally. You also will be responsible for creating and project managing the production and development of the necessary tools, documents, guidelines and training programs that ensure a consistent articulation of the VMware corporate message by our employees and supporting partner network.
As an extension of this role, you will develop a communication plan and program around core themes that support market awareness for VMware. You will work with others to identify core topics and themes, while ensuring integration with existing awareness, thought-leadership and demand-generation programs. Your responsibility will extend to defining, as well as managing the writing, editing, creation and internal distribution of the supporting content assets around these themes for use across Web, events, advertising and other channels. You also will be responsible for overseeing the communication vehicles (such as newsletters, webinars) needed to take these broad themes to market.
You will also own the VMware corporate-level content plan, manage the refresh cycle of existing assets (messaging cards, corporate presentations, corporate whiteboard presentations), identify new corporate collateral and the creation process working with both internal teams and external agencies.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and manage the VMware global corporate messaging go-to-market plan, including the development of supporting assets and content, tools and training programs for both internal and external audiences. A primary part of this role will focus on driving consistency, and measuring and monitoring the use and effectiveness of corporate messages and training tools
• Act as a central resource and subject matter expert for the global marketing team for corporate-level messaging guidance, training and messaging reviews
• Own the creation and refresh of all VMware corporate assets and collateral needs that drive awareness of VMware and our value proposition. Includes but not limited to corporate brochure, corporate deck, corporate video
• Develop core themes and supporting content around approved themes to support market awareness programs and communication vehicles
• Provide strategic direction to theme development for integrated awareness programs, industry events, VMware Forum and other corporate events
• Lead a cross-functional communications taskforce to deliver an integrated product- and program-level communications strategy and calendar
• Define and manage the newsletter editorial process, calendar and content, including managing internal and external design and writing resources
• Review and edit corporate messaging content (brochures, presentations, messaging cards) and participate in cross-functional messaging activities as a representative of the corporate marketing team
Qualifications
• 10+ years experience demonstrating a strong foundation in taking corporate messaging to market and ongoing message measurement, as well as developing corporate marketing communication programs, content and awareness themes
• Preferably worked in an enterprise software or hardware environment creating successful marketing communication and messaging programs directed at Executive-level IT professionals and their departments
• Demonstrated metrics and satisfaction levels for your programs and deliverables
• Proactive and enthusiastic team player with exceptional communication, writing and interpersonal skills
• Strong program management skills with a proven track record in taking multiple projects from concept to completion
