Shutterfly is seeking an entrepreneurial, passionate and hungry Manager or Sr. Manager-level person with a strong passion for business management and planning to help drive the growth and business performance for our Wedding Paper Divas brand. S/he will be responsible for the day-to-day website operations and process improvements, site merchandising and promotions, liaison with operations (customer service, production design and fulfillment teams), site enhancements and other technology projects, and analysis of site and ecommerce reporting. This person is expected to develop a thorough understanding of the industry including market size, problem/opportunity identification and customer segment insight/intelligence.
This role is highly cross-functional in nature and as such the candidate must thrive in a collaborative environment and possess the ability to foster strong internal and external business relationships. This role reports to the VP/GM of Wedding Paper Divas and is a unique role for someone looking to gain significant operating experience of running an ecommerce business.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Business Planning. Develop business requirements into a project proposal with supporting data, insights and business case, and develop recommendation that will achieve our long-term goals. Collaborate with Product Management on product definition, site usability and overall customer experience. Successfully manage both site enhancement and technology projects. Bring projects to closure and ensure appropriate communication to internal and external audiences.
Site project management. Responsible for driving and managing day-to-day site operations calendar for Wedding Paper Divas. Own strategic direction and execution of site content to ensure a consistent site user experience. Plan, organize and manage deliverables and deadlines across cross-functional resources (merchandising, creative, engineering) to assure execution of all business priorities.
Web Analytics & Testing. Develop solid analytics discipline and taking web analytics (conversion, campaigns, funnels) data to formulate strategic insights and provide input to assist in business strategy and product recommendations. Develop site tests aimed at optimizing business goals and serve as the business lead for Wedding Paper Divas eCommerce projects.
ROI Analysis. Develop financial models and drive strategic analysis for business initiatives for business portfolio. Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly variance analysis of top line performance and other key financial and business metrics. Assess business impact of promotion and pricing strategy through close collaboration across multiple functional teams.
Market/Customer Intelligence. Drive quantitative and qualitative customer intelligence and research in order to better understand customer profile, needs and behavior. Closely monitor competition and industry trends. Perform market research and competitive analysis.
Operations. Liaison with customer service, production design and the fulfillment teams to create a unified customer experience. Position key operational groups as extensions of the business management team.
Marketing/Creative/Merchandising. Collaborate with Marketing/Creative to define product positioning and develop marketing messaging/creative assets. Collaborate with Merchandising to ensure that design content and merchandising is properly aligned with target customer's needs.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree with strong emphasis on Finance, Business, Economics, or other related fields. MBA a plus but not required.
4+ years of related experience. Proven analytical skills. P&L, financial planning/forecasting and valuation experience a plus.
Product development, product management or brand management experience with a high interest in understanding each product line and a focus on innovation as well as a good technical understanding of new features and tools for an online retail company.
Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams (senior and junior level positions).
Intellectual agility. Great thinkers both at strategic and tactical level. Excellent decision-making skills.
Can-do attitude and strong bias to action. Always seeking to improve through change and innovation.
Proven leadership skills throughout life – personal and professional
Prior experience with start-up company from an early stage, preferably online and retail.
Proven ability to manage the ongoing operations of a small company and weather downturns and hyper growth situations. Extremely entrepreneurial and always generating ideas.
Good interpersonal, communication and problem solving skill.
Excellent computer and Internet skills with high proficiency with all MS Office products.
