Position
The UX Innovations Lab is seeking a development engineer who blends creativity and implementation skills to create systems using multiple devices. The projects involve integrations of sensors with the full range of electronic devices (phones, tablets, wall-size displays, cameras) and other crazy stuff like home appliances and parking meters. The goal of the projects is to make devices interact more appropriately to make our dynamic lives easier to manage.
Common Essential
• Invent solutions to challenging user experience problems
• Work with UX designers to construct proof-of-concept prototypes
• Define and execute the technical architecture for user experience prototypes that involve more than one device (e.g., mobile, tablet, TV, camera, home appliances)
• Support small-scale deployments of prototypes for user experience assessments
Necessary Skills /
• 3+ years of Android application development experience
• 5+ years experience in industrial setting creating user interfaces on various device types, at least smartphones and tablets, preferably also including large-display interactive systems
• Master's in HCI, Computer Science or related field
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and flexible worker
• A desire to build something that works, and a willingness to learn the technologies necessary to make the prototype come to life
• Excellent documentation and team-level communication skills are required
