Smart Services Managed Services Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Cisco Services is building a portfolio of differentiated "smart" service offerings to enable our customers to run their networks & businesses with higher levels of availability, predictability and efficiency. One of the "smart" offerings is Partner Support Service (PSS) – a collaborative offer that integrates Cisco and partner service capabilities to deliver network device insights and inventory information to end customers. Cisco Services seeks a Smart Services Managed Services (MS) Manager to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Managed Services to PSS partners. This high profile role is intended to lead all MS related discussions internally and with PSS partners paving the way for increased partner adoption of the PSS offer. The goal is to establish Cisco as a market leader in next-generation "smart" services. This is a unique opportunity to help impact the future of a technology giant!

The role requires a minimum of 10 years experience, including a strong Software & Managed Services background, professional services, strong Project and Program Management experience. Strong analytical, leadership and relationship management skills are a must. Experience in setting up or evangelizing Managed Services practice for top-tier consulting firms or MS Application/Solutions vendors, would be highly preferred.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Co-ordinate and manage all MS activities with the primary objective of accelerating market adoption of PSS by MS Partners

Review Smart Services collateral and provide recommendations for targeting Managed Services providers

Serve as the MS SME for the team

Lead Partner discussions around MS and applicability of Smart Services

Outline plan/best practices for engaging with MS partners

Engage with Corporate and theater stakeholders - Engagement Managers, BDM and account teams in a consultative role

Monitor and communicate MS related industry developments to all stakeholders as required

May involve international travel


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Software, Managed Services and Product deployment/professional services experience

Creation & execution of templates for deployment of Managed Services and scale them when needed

Strong Project & Program Management experience
Background in Product Management is a plus
Consultative approach, stakeholder influence, evangelizing & management skills
Project Coordination & Organizational skills
10+ years of experience in the managed services business


Skills Required:
The successful candidate for this role will have proven expertise in the following areas:
Deep experience with services business models (Support and Managed Services), preferably with 2/3 tier Channel

Direct experience with software & managed services business and operations
Deep understanding of the Cloud business including platform, infrastructure and operations
Familiarity with models for public cloud based delivery and private cloud Hosting
Datacenter build and mgmt experience
Strong analytical, leadership and relationship management skills are a must
Strong teamwork & interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams

An ability to scan the internal landscape and learn rapidly through dialogs with various organizations
Strong business acumen
Ability to influence people across the organization to drive results
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, problem solver
Can-do attitude!
Ability to deal with ambiguity and adaptable to change

Location: San Jose/Bay Area
Duration: Open- ended contract
